The Secret

Becky leaned her head against the cold glass. Her stomach performed somersaults as her hometown grew in size, a sight she had not seen for five frantic years. Chasing fame and fortune in LA, Becky had traded coast when seventeen.

Soon she discovered she had not made the journey west alone. Fearing her disapproving father and stern mother, she had never once revealed her circumstance.

Her parents weren’t expecting her, and they certainly didn’t expect the little girl that sat beside her. Becky reached over and tightened her daughter’s seatbelt.

“Buckle up sweetheart, its going to be a bumpy ride.”

100 Words

Thanks for reading.

The Christmas season is upon us. I will be visiting family for the next two weeks and not able to make any posts. As such I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, or Happy Hanukkah and if you don’t celebrate anything this time of year take time to soak up the good will and joy this time presents.

Joy to all!

Cindy

  1. If the parents don’t welcome both, it’s their loss, not hers. Hopeful and sad at the same time. And Happy Holidays. 🙂
